Anchor Links allow visitors to click a link and jump to a specific section, or anchor, of a page. You can do this both from your site navigation as well as text, buttons, and images in pages - pretty much anywhere you can make a link!
Create Your Anchor
First things first, you’ll make the anchor itself. Navigate to the page section where you want to have an anchor, then click on the section to open the options panel. Edit the Anchor text field to something unique that makes sense for the section. It’s usually best practice to use dashes between words rather than spaces, e.g. “about-us”.
The steps are a bit different depending on where you are making the link.
Link to an Anchor Link Within the Same Page
When linking within the same page, create your link or edit your navigation link and choose the Page Section option from the list of link choices. You’ll see a list of sections for the page. Choose the appropriate page section and click Save.
Link to an Anchor Link on Another Page
To link to a section on another page, create your link and choose the External option. You’re now going to put together a URL that includes your site address, page, and anchor link. If your site is mysite.com, the page is “about”, and the anchor text for the page section is “about-us”, then putting it all together you’ll get this: https://www.mysite.com/about-us#about-us
Essentially, you’re taking the URL of the destination page, then adding the anchor text to it and separating both with a pound sign.
Finally, enter this into the URL field for an external page, then click Save.
