Pages are a core part of any website, and are the backbone on which you add all of your site content. To create and manage pages, go to the Site tab of your dashboard, then click the Edit button to open your site in the website editor.
Add a Page
To add a page, click the Plus button at the top left of the website editor. A popup will load for more information about your new page. Complete the following three fields:
- Page Name - The name of your page; generally speaking, short, descriptive page names are best.
- Route - The page route is the part of the page URL specific to the page. For example, if your site is mysite.com and your page is “About Us”, this would be “about-us” in the page URL, mysite.com/about-us. We automatically generate this for you, but if you’d prefer something different you can edit this field to customize it.
- Template - Some themes support different page templates. With this option you can choose a template from those available.
Finally, click the Add Page button and your page will be created. The website editor will also refresh so you can begin to edit the content of your new page.
Find and Edit a Page
There are three different ways to access and edit a page you’ve added to your site.
- From within the website editor, click the Menu button found next to the Plus button on the top left. Next, scroll to the page you want to edit and click the Edit button for the page. You can also use the search field to search for the page.
- From within the website editor, click the page name in your site navigation. The website editor will refresh so you can edit the page.
- On the Site tab of your account dashboard, scroll down to the Pages section. Click the three dots to open a menu for the page you want to edit, then click the Design in Site Editor option.
Copy a Page
To copy a page, scroll down to the Pages section on the Site page of your dashboard, then click the three dots button for a page and choose the Duplicate Page option.
Set a Page as the Homepage of the Site
Follow the same steps you’d follow to duplicate a page, then choose the Set as Homepage option. Note that this doesn’t affect the order of items in the navigation menu of your site.
Delete a Page
There are a couple different ways to delete a page, and both are found via the Site tab of your dashboard in the Pages section.
- Click the three dots for the page you want to delete, then choose the Delete option.
- Click the three dots, choose the Settings option, then scroll down and click the Delete button. Note that you can also get to a page’s settings from within the website editor. Click the menu icon on the top left of the website editor, then click the Settings button for a page.
Edit Page Settings
Within the website editor, click on the Gear Icon found next to the Plus button on the top of the website editor to open the page settings panel. This panel contains options which affect the display of the page itself.
- Template - For pages that have multiple page templates, you can use this option to change to a different template.
- Hide Header - Toggle this option on to hide the header and navigation from your page.
- Hide Footer - Toggle this option on to hide the footer section from your page.
- All Page Settings - Click this button to exit the editor and access more page setting options.
Tip: To create a splash page, toggle both the Hide Header and Hide Footer options on.
