To create and manage coupons for your website, go to Commerce > Coupons in your dashboard. Next, click on the coupon name or the edit icon to the right. Otherwise, click on the Create Coupon button to make a new one.
We provide a number of options to control how customers use the coupon with your website:
- Name - The text entered by a customer in the coupon field during checkout.
- Valid At - This is the date and time the coupon becomes valid for use during checkout. If you leave this blank the coupon will be valid immediately when you save.
- Valid Until - This is the date and time the coupon will expire. If you leave this blank the coupon will never expire.
- Discount Type - There are three types of coupons:
- Amount - Discount by a specific amount.
- Percentage -Discount by a percentage.
- Free Shipping - Provide free shipping on an order.
- Limit Quantity - This option limits the total number of times the coupon can be used by all customers.
- Limit Per Transaction - This option prevents the use of other coupons with this coupon.
- Discount Criteria - With this option you can choose what the coupon applies to:
- The entire transaction
- Certain products - After choosing this, use the **Add Products** button to select specific products.
- Certain categories - After choosing this option, use the **Add Categories** button to add specific categories.
- Transactions over a certain amount - When choosing this, enter an order total value which must be reached before the coupon can be used.
After configuring the coupon, click the Save button to save your changes.
Important Note: Your customers will not be presented with the option to use a coupon during checkout unless your store has active, valid coupon codes available.
